SmartBizAccounting

Clarity in Books. Confidence in Business.

From your first invoice to your financial statements, bring daily accounting into one browser-based workspace. Built for Indian businesses that want organised records and a clearer view of their finances.

  • Sales & purchases
  • Cash & bank entries
  • Financial reports
  • GST review

BUILT AROUND YOUR WORK

One workspace for the people behind the business

Keep invoices, payments, account masters and reports together, with a consistent process from entry to review.

01

Business owners

See what customers owe, what needs to be paid to suppliers, and how income and expenses appear in your books.

02

Trading & service businesses

Record sales of goods or services, supplier purchases, day-to-day expenses, receipts and payments in familiar voucher screens.

03

Accounts teams

Maintain structured masters, check entries before posting, and review ledgers and statements for the selected period.

CONTINUE FROM ANOTHER COMPUTER

Keep working when a computer breaks down

Your successfully saved accounting records are stored in the online app's database. If your office PC needs repair, sign in from another PC or laptop and continue with the saved records, provided your internet connection and the online service are available.

01

Records beyond one computer

A fault in your office PC does not by itself remove records already saved in the online database. Your accounting work is less dependent on the condition of a single machine.

02

Resume on a replacement device

Open SmartBizAccounting in a compatible browser, sign in with your authorised account, and open your company. There is no desktop accounting application to reinstall.

03

Office, home or travelling

Review your accounts from another location with an internet connection. Reports reflect the transactions that have been entered and posted, so you can check the latest available books.

This applies to the live online app. Unsaved entries and browser-specific layout preferences do not transfer to another device. Reliable database backups and tested recovery procedures remain essential for protecting business records.

  • Check required fields and account mappings.
  • Review imported Draft transactions before posting.
  • Use PDF/print, Excel or CSV options where available in each report.

Customise vouchers and reports around your work

Choose the available fields and columns you want to see. Keep routine entry screens focused, give longer descriptions more space, and arrange supported reports for a clearer review.

FOCUSED DATA ENTRY

Show the fields you need

Use Configure in supported voucher screens to show or hide optional header fields and transaction columns.

  • Hide optional details that are not relevant to your daily work.
  • Bring hidden fields and columns back when you need them.
  • Widen or narrow resizable columns to suit the information being entered.
  • Keep compulsory fields available for completing the voucher.
FLEXIBLE REPORT VIEWS

Control which columns you see

Customise supported reports such as Ledger, Trial Balance, Cash Book, Bank Book, Sales Book and Purchase Book.

  • Show available columns or hide those you do not need.
  • Drag a column boundary to increase or decrease its width.
  • Sort a column and use Word Wrap for longer text.
  • Choose Save Layout from a report column menu to reuse that view in the same browser.

A PRACTICAL EXAMPLE

Give important details more room

While checking a ledger, widen the narration column to read descriptions and hide optional columns that are not useful for that review. Restore them whenever you need a fuller view. The layout controls change how the information is displayed.

BEFORE YOU START

Your questions, answered

What is SmartBizAccounting?

SmartBizAccounting is a browser-based accounting app from SmartBizTools for business masters, invoices, purchases, receipts, payments, journals, financial reports and GST review. It brings these activities into one workspace for Indian businesses.

Do I need to install accounting software?

Open accounting.smartbiztools.in in your browser and sign in. Use a desktop or laptop for the most comfortable experience with detailed vouchers and reports. An internet connection is required.

Can I keep working if my office PC or laptop fails?

Yes, if your account, internet connection and the online service are available. Open the live app on another PC or laptop, sign in and access the records successfully saved to your company. A failure of your own computer does not by itself delete those server-stored records. Unsaved work and local browser preferences will not carry across. Cloud storage still needs reliable database backups and recovery procedures.

How can I try it, and what does it cost?

The app offers a 10-day free trial. Use it to check how your invoices, payments and reports fit the workflow. Contact SmartBizTools for current subscription pricing, company and user limits, and onboarding options.

Can I record both goods and services?

Yes. Set up your products or services, units and relevant tax details, then choose them when preparing invoices or purchase entries. Check the applicable accounting and tax treatment before posting.

Can I import existing records?

Use the app's supported master and transaction import templates. Check column formats, dates, party names, account mappings and totals. Review imported Draft entries before posting them. Ask the team about your source format before planning a complete migration.

Why does a Draft invoice not appear in my reports?

Draft is a work-in-progress state. Only Posted vouchers affect the accounting reports. Check the invoice and post it when complete, then confirm that your report dates include the invoice date.

Does the app file GST returns or generate government documents?

The current live version provides GST review reports and GSTR-2B comparison. It does not submit GST returns. E-Invoice output uses a demonstration provider and is not a government-issued IRN. The E-Way Bill screen tracks qualifying invoices but does not generate an E-Way Bill.

Are returns, stock reports and year closing available now?

These functions are in the new demo under testing and have not yet been rolled out to the public app. See New in preview for the scope and contact the team for availability. A visible menu item alone does not confirm that a workflow is ready.

How do company backups work?

The current live app provides a partial JSON company export and does not yet include the new Restore Company workflow. Arrange a complete database backup for production records. The preview version adds broader business-data backup and restoration to a separate company; login credentials and subscriptions are not restored.

Can I customise voucher screens and report columns?

Yes. Supported voucher screens let you show or hide optional fields and columns through Configure. Supported reports let you choose available columns, drag column boundaries to adjust their width, sort data and wrap long text. These controls customise the layout of the information displayed.

Will my saved layout follow me to another computer?

Layout preferences are currently stored in the browser you use. In supported reports, select Save Layout from the column menu to remember the view in that browser. Opening the app on another device or clearing browser storage will not preserve those local preferences. Voucher field-visibility choices are also remembered in the current browser.

Where can I get help?

Read the user manual, use the website chat assistant for product questions, or contact SmartBizTools for a demonstration and help with setup.
